Your first visit

What to expect

Booking your first treatment can feel a little daunting, so here’s everything you need to feel confident before, during and after your session.

Before your treatment

Contact your therapist. Reach out by email or phone before booking and ask any questions, big or small. A good therapist will always welcome them, and it helps make sure you choose the right treatment.

Check your booking details. Once you’ve booked, Fresha sends you everything you need: the price, the address and any forms to complete beforehand (usually a consultation form). If anything is missing or unclear, just contact your therapist.

During your treatment

When you arrive, your therapist will explain the treatment, guide you through anything they need you to do, and give you time to ask questions.

The most important thing to remember: you should never feel uncomfortable at any point. If something doesn’t feel right, please speak up. Your therapist will always make sure you feel safe, supported and at ease.

After your treatment

Your therapist will talk you through what you might feel afterwards and how to look after yourself following your session.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Unless the treatment description says otherwise, most treatments mean undressing to your underwear. For reflexology, only your shoes and socks come off.

Your therapist will step out while you undress, lie on the couch and cover yourself with the towels provided. Only the area being worked on is ever uncovered. Towel draping is required for every treatment, at all times, for your privacy, safety and dignity.

How will I feel afterwards?

Relaxed or sleepy. It’s very common to feel deeply relaxed, so take your time leaving, especially if you’re driving. You’re welcome to visit the café, shop or outdoor food village at Macknade before heading home.

Muscle soreness. After a deep tissue or sports massage you may feel as though you’ve had a workout, for 24 to 48 hours. Drink plenty of water, keep gently moving, and use heat like a hot water bottle or wheat bag if needed.

Headaches. Some people get a mild headache, as massage encourages lymphatic movement, your body’s natural waste-removal system. Drinking plenty of water helps.

I’m not feeling well. Can I still come?

It’s best to reschedule. Massage can make symptoms worse and risks passing illness on to others who may be vulnerable. If your therapist feels it’s best for everyone, an appointment can be refused on arrival, but it will still be charged. If you’re unsure, contact your therapist before you come.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Every booking is confirmed with your acceptance of our cancellation policy. You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment, through the Fresha app or by contacting your therapist. Within 24 hours, the full treatment price is charged.

Please note that repeatedly cancelling or rescheduling may lead to a polite refusal to take further bookings.

How do I pay?

Card details are needed when booking (stored securely in your Fresha account) for the cancellation policy. Payment is taken after your treatment by card, cash or a valid gift voucher code. Please bring the right amount if paying cash, as no change is kept on site.

How do I book?

The quickest way is online with Fresha. If you’re not sure which treatment is right for you, or you have any questions, email or WhatsApp Vicky on 07731 703 772.

Where do I find you in Macknade?

We’re in the main building. Walk through the main shop and head towards the café. Just before the café entrance you’ll see the frozen food area on your right: go up the stairs there and through the door on your left. Take a seat on the stool and your therapist will meet you.
